Caitlin Clark buries three-point dagger to secure first Fever win of the season

The Indiana Fever are finally in the win column, and thanks to none other than No. 1 overall pick Caitlin Clark, who nailed a late dagger to secure the victory.

The Fever didn’t start out so hot this season, falling in their first five games of the season before finally snapping the losing streak with a massive win at the Los Angeles Sparks, who feature the No. 2 and No. 4 overall picks on their roster in Cameron Brink (second) and Rickea Jackson (fourth).

In this showcase of rookie stars, Clark and Indiana ultimately came out on top, with this deep 3-point shot from the Iowa legend putting it away late:

For the game, Clark put up modest scoring numbers with 11 points on just 4-14 shooting and a 2-9 mark from 3. However, she filled in elsewhere, racking up 10 rebounds, eight assists, four steals and a block. Now, that is stuffing the stat sheet right there.

On the year as a whole, she’s averaging 16.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.2 assists and a steal and a block per game through six contests. The shooting and turnover numbers aren’t where she’d like just yet, but that’s nitpicking for a rookie who’s only a half-a-dozen games into her professional career.
