‘Quite interesting’: Alasdair Gold shares what his Tottenham sources have now said about Callum Hudson-Odoi

Callum Hudson-Odoi has been linked with a move to Tottenham in recent days.

The Nottingham Forest winger is said to be a player Spurs are very keen on. In fact, some reports have claimed that Spurs are favourites to sign the former Chelsea man.

However, as with any transfer rumour, there are conflicting reports around this story, and according to Alasdair Gold, speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Spurs aren’t actually interested in the Forest star.

Indeed, Gold says that there has been some pushback on this story from his Spurs sources, claiming that he has been told Hudson-Odoi isn’t someone Spurs are in for.

What Alasdair Gold has heard about Callum Hudson-Odoi

Gold shared what he’s heard about the winger.

“Interestingly I saw some bits and pieces about Callum Hudson-Odoi out there in recent days. Within Spurs there seems to be a pushback against that, that’s not someone they’re going for, which is quite interesting,” Gold said.

“I could understand it for a couple of reasons, for the homegrown perspective and the fact we know Forest have to sell players, but the current feeling seems to be that’s not somebody they’re going for.”

Hudson-Odoi not someone Tottenham need

As good as Hudson-Odoi has been this season, it’s not a shock to hear that Spurs aren’t so keen on him.

Tottenham need to be signing elite players if they are to push on and become challengers for major silverware next season, and, sadly, Hudson-Odoi doesn’t fit into that category.

He’s had a good season for Nottingham Forest, but, in reality, he hasn’t lit the Premier League up in the way Tottenham would want any incoming winger to.

Hudson-Odoi is a very good footballer, but he’s yet to prove he’s good enough to earn a move to a club like Tottenham.
