Kenny Brooks has continued to add to his arsenal by adding not only fundamental pieces on the court but also off the court.

On Friday, the Kentucky women’s basketball program announced that Brooks has hired Tevin Shears to be the Director of Creative Content.

Everywhere Shears goes, there seems to be success that follows him.

Shears got his name out there in the creative content world by running the social media for the boys’ basketball team at Dorman (SC) High School. The Cavaliers would win four consecutive 5A State Championships while he was there.

Then, Shears was brought onto Dan Hurley’s staff at UConn in 2022-23. Of course, we all know that the Huskies would go on to have one of the most dominant NCAA Tournament runs of all time, winning the national championship along the way.

His most recent stop came at Ole Miss, his first job on the women’s basketball side. Shears’ role consists of making graphics, documentaries, and creative videos for social media, but also for recruiting purposes.

Under Kenny Brooks, Kentucky is trying to become Kentucky again. One of the biggest steps in building your brand is being marketable and attractive to recruits — that’s where Tevin Shears comes in.
