No. 2 seed Nebraska took two games off No. 3 seed Indiana on Saturday to advance to the Big Ten Tournament championship game, where the Cornhuskers will face off with No. 8 seed Penn State.

And the Cornhuskers got ahead in the 10-4 win by virtue of a bases-clearing double from Josh Overbeek in the bottom of the 2nd inning. From that 3-0 lead, Nebraska never trailed as the runs piled on.

Speaking with the Big Ten Network after the game, Overbeek was blunt about how the Cornhuskers see themselves.

“We’re just hungry,” Overbeek said. “We’ve got a bunch who, you know, we look at ourselves as nobodies, you know? We don’t have a ton of All-Americans, we don’t have a ton of studs, there’s not a lot of egos in the locker room and we’re just going about our business each and every day with our heads down and you know, we haven’t proved anything yet. We’ve got a game tomorrow and we’re focus on that and we’re trying to be as present as possible, each and every game.”

On the day, Overbeek went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and four RBI, leading the way for the Cornhuskers in the offensive onslaught that led them to the Big Ten Tournament championship game.
