Alabama softball was able to keep their championship hopes alive on Saturday with a walk-off victory in the 14th inning thanks to Kirsten white. And after that hard-fought battle with SEC rival the Tennessee Volunteers, White and her Crimson Tide teammates were in a celebratory mood, leading to this hysterical postgame interview.

The 14-inning slobber knocker played between Alabama and the host team Tennessee in the Knoxville Super Regional will also go down as the longest super regional game in NCAA tournament history. The Crimson Tide would go on to win 3-2.

While White and Alabama have plenty to celebrate on Saturday, their work is not done. The Crimson Tide and the Lady Vols will face off one more time on Sunday, with the winner punching their ticket to the Women’s College World Series.

Alabama walks off Tennessee, ties up Knoxville Super Regional

Two full softball games were played in Knoxville on Saturday. Unfortunately for Alabama, there is only one win added to the record but they will take it. Tying up their Super Regional matchup against Tennessee was the top priority and the mission was accomplished.

Kristen White was up in the bottom of the 14th inning with the bases loaded and nobody out. If there was ever a time to end the softball game, White had an incredible chance.

She came through in the clutch moment, hitting a chopper to the left side of the infield. Freshman outfielder Lauren Johnson was tasked with beating the throw to home and made the play more than difficult for Tennessee.

Johnson scored, sending the Alabama dugout into a frenzy. They will play at least one more game this season, with a spot in the Women’s College World Series on the line in Game 3. You can check out the full moment here.

With the Alabama win, everything will be on the line Sunday. The Crimson Tide are looking to make Oklahoma City for the WCWS for the second season in a row and the program’s third appearance in four seasons.
