Qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix appeared to have gone well for Haas with both drivers managing to get into Q2.
However, after the session, both Haas cars were disqualified meaning they’ll be lining up alongside each other on the back row of the grid on Sunday.
Former team principal Guenther Steiner sent Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg a message on Instagram after the news broke that they’ll be starting 19 and 20.
Both Haas drivers are in very different positions after the first seven race weekends of the season.
If there’s any track where you don’t want to be sent to the back of the grid this season, it’s the tight, twisting Monaco circuit.

Guenther Steiner sends a message to Haas after Monaco Grand Prix qualifying disqualification
Nico Hulkenberg has proven to be one of the best qualifiers on the grid this season, regularly reaching Q3 in a car that isn’t one of the five fastest in the paddock.
It’s one of the reasons why he earned a move to Sauber for 2025 before their Audi takeover, although he may be looking at their current performance and wondering what he’s signed up for after they were well off the pace on Saturday.
The German couldn’t reach Q3 this time around with the margin between each driver just a few hundredths of a second.

Kevin Magnussen has been left behind by Hulkenberg in both qualifying and the races themselves this season.
It’s one of the reasons why his seat is under pressure with the American team, although he did well to knock Fernando Alonso and Sergio Perez out of Q1.
Magnussen and Hulkenberg were due to start in the middle of the grid on Sunday which can be very dangerous considering the concertina effect going into turn one.
Haas won’t have to worry about that now after being disqualified from qualifying in Monaco and Guenther Steiner has now sent them a tongue-in-cheek message.

Haas facing serious uphill battle at the Monaco Grand Prix
Posting on his Instagram story after the news broke, Steiner said: “Does anybody want to borrow my tape measure?”
An official statement from the FIA stated that: “The uppermost rear wing element adjustable positions were checked on car numbers 20 [Magnussen] and 27 [Hulkenberg].
“The [left-hand side] and [right-hand side] outermost area of the adjustable elements were exceeding the maximum allowed 85mm on both cars.”
The matter was then referred to the stewards who ruled that the part connected to Haas’s DRS was non-compliant.
Haas were then forced to change the part and because teams can’t make certain adjustments to their cars under parc ferme rules, both Magnussen and Hulkenberg were disqualified.
Steiner’s cheeky message to Haas is very much in character and the team will now be praying for chaos to ensue ahead of them if they stand any chance of scoring points.
With Williams, Alpine and RB all having drivers start in the top ten, it could be a disastrous weekend for their standing in the Constructors’ Championship.
