Report: Liverpool now considering bid for 'outstanding' £45m winger as Luis Diaz questions continue

Liverpool could end up signing a new winger this summer as question marks continue over the future of current wide man, Luis Diaz.

The Reds could look to be busy in the summer as Arne Slot takes over and a number of positions are being looked at by the recruitment team.

Among the areas being considered for strengthening are out wide.

Mo Salah faces an uncertain future amid continued links to Saudi Arabia, while Luis Diaz is being monitored by Barcelona. Indeed, suggestions this weekend even say Barcelona director Deco is pushing hard to land Diaz.

However, should Diaz be sold, Liverpool do have a back up plan of sorts in the form of Leeds United winger, Crysencio Summerville.

Liverpool considering summer bid for Crysencio Summerville

According to a report from 90Min, which cites journalist Ben Jacobs’ information, Summerville is very much a player on the radar of Liverpool.

Summerville has had an outstanding season with Leeds and scored more than 20 goals. He goes to Wembley today to try and help Leeds back into the Premier League.

However, Liverpool could look to make a move for Summerville, regardless of today’s result.

The Reds are believed to be looking at alternatives for the wide areas and Summerville has ticked plenty of boxes for FSG.

Summerville only cost Leeds just over £1m when he signed back in 2020 as a teenager.

Since then, his value and stock have sky-rocketed, with reports suggesting Leeds would want at least £45m to consider selling the winger.

Summerville could make sense for Liverpool

When you look at wingers in the game right now and what Liverpool want from any potential signing, it’s about getting someone who can bring goals and assists to the table.

20 goals and nine assists is quite the effort from Summerville this season in the Championship and at just 22, his potential is huge.

Lauded by Daniel Farke as an ‘outstanding‘ talent, Summerville is very much someone Liverpool could nurture and improve even further.

If he doesn’t help Leeds get over the line at Wembley today, then you’d have to assume a summer switch seems more likely than ever.
