£60m Arsenal target loved by Patrick Vieira could now become Man Utd’s transfer priority

Manchester United could reportedly make a rumoured £60m Arsenal target their new transfer priority heading into the summer.

The Red Devils are on cloud nine having won the FA Cup this weekend against Manchester City, booking their ticket into Europe for next season as Erik Ten Hag showed United’s new owners why he could be the right man for the job.

With attentions for all Premier League clubs now on the summer transfer window, the likes of United and Arsenal can focus on conducting deals to help improve their squads ahead of the new season.

Arsenal-linked Marc Guehi could become Manchester United’s priority

According to GiveMeSport, Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi could become a priority target for United if the Red Devils miss out on Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite, two players who Arsenal have been linked with this summer.

A player who is highly rated by club legend Patrick Vieira, Guehi has been one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier League in recent years and has emerged as a top target for a number of clubs.

And heading into the summer, the £60m-rated centre-back could now be heading to one of the biggest sides in the Premier League, with Arsenal and United both chasing the England international.

Yet following this update, there’s a real chance that the Gunners could miss out on Guehi to United, who are more in need of a new defensive signing than Mikel Arteta’s side.

Arsenal can afford to miss out on Guehi this summer

With the best defensive record in the Premier League this season with arguably the strongest centre-back pairing in world football at the time of writing, central defence might not be as big an issue for Arsenal as some might think.

Whilst some cover would be welcome, Arsenal targeting a younger player who can come into the starting XI a few years from now might be an ideal approach to handling this position this summer.

As a result, Arsenal can afford to miss out on the likes of Guehi this summer, with the Palace star a player who will want to go up that extra level whilst also being a regular for whoever he joins this window.
