Arsenal could now sell ‘extraordinary’ Mikel Arteta signing despite impressing in 2024

The Premier League season has only just finished, but for a club like Arsenal, it is already time to look ahead to the next campaign.

Arsenal came close to winning the Premier League title this season. The North London club also went as far as the quarter-finals of UEFA Champions League.

Some, such as Jamie O’Hara, may not think that Arsenal have had a good season because they did not win a major trophy, but the Emirates Stadium faithful will point to the fact that the Gunners have now become Manchester City’s main rivals in England.

For Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Sporting Director Edu, it is now time to evaluate which players to keep and which ones to offload so that the squad is better equipped for the challenges next season.

Arsenal stance on Jakub Kiwior future

According to The Athletic, Arsenal could offload Jakub Kiwior if they get a good offer for him despite the defender doing well when called upon in the final few weeks and months of the season.

The report has noted that “after his strong performances in 2024, the likelihood is that Kiwior will remain with Arsenal this summer,” but has claimed that “he is in the bracket where an attractive offer from elsewhere could change things.”

Arsenal have not seen the best of Jakub Kiwior

Jakub Kiwior is only 24 now and is still developing as a player. The Poland international has not been able to showcase the best version of himself at Arsenal.

Arsenal signed Kiwior from Spezia in January 2023. He is a centre-back by trade, but the formidable partnership of William Saliba and Gabriel means that he has had to play at left-back.

The Poland international did well in that role this season, scoring one goal and providing three assists in 11 starts in the Premier League.

Arsenal have to persevere with Kiwior and allow him another season to realise his potential. After all, he is rated very highly.

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has spoken highly of Kiwior in the past. The two players are Poland teammates.

Lewandowski said: “The guy has great potential. During the warm-up of the game with the Netherlands, I thought, ‘Who is this guy?’ Then, during the match, I realised that he is extraordinary.”
