'Here's a bit' - Simon Jordan makes 'interesting' Sir Jim Ratcliffe prediction and sends clear-cut 'reality' check to one Man Utd star

TalkSPORT presenter Simon Jordan has made a telling prediction involving Ineos chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe and sent a clear-cut message to one Manchester United star.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe purchased a minority stake in Manchester United in December 2023, which was ratified by the Football Association (FA) and the Premier League in 2024.

The 71-year-old British billionaire has seen his Ineos team take control of football operations at the Premier League club after he became co-owner of United.

Ratcliffe’s Ineos is expected to make sweeping changes at Old Trafford and have already shaken up the hierarchy behind the scenes.

Omar Berrada has been poached from Manchester City and will become the new chief executive officer at United.

Jason Wilcox has also been appointed as technical director at United, while former Newcastle sporting director Dan Ashworth is believed to be a key target for Ineos.

Jordan’s prediction for Man Utd under Ratcliffe

Speaking in his column for The Daily Mail, Simon Jordan hit out at the idea that the Premier League has become one-sided because of Manchester City’s dominance.

City beat Arsenal to the Premier League trophy in the 2023-24 season and captured their fourth consecutive title under manager Pep Guardiola.

Jordan insisted that the Premier League remains competitive, despite claiming that he expects Pep Guardiola’s men to make it “five in a row” next season.

However, the former Crystal Palace chairman admitted that Manchester United would make an “interesting watch” next season due to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival.

Jordan also predicted that United will “surely make more of an impact” in the league next season after languishing in eighth place in the 2023-24 season.

“Ange Postecoglou believes there are opportunities for Tottenham to be successful and will push them on,” he wrote for the newspaper.

“Manchester United will be an interesting watch as they pivot on the back of Jim Ratcliffe and will surely make more of an impact.

“Chelsea look like they have finally got their engines going even if parting company with Mauricio Pochettino may arrest that progress.

“What’s the next step for Villa? What’s going to happen to Newcastle? Can Crystal Palace kick on under Oliver Glasner?”

Jordan sends brutal message to Man Utd star

Jordan also turned his attention to Marcus Rashford after the United star failed to make England’s Euro 2024 squad for the tournament in Germany.

England boss Gareth Southgate named his 33-man squad for Euro 2024, with Marcus Rashford a noticeable omission for England.

Rashford, who has since broken his silence over the snub, has struggled with his form and endured a lack of consistency for United in the 2023-24 season.

Jordan delivered a ‘reality check’ for the 26-year-old United and England star by sending him a clear-cut message over his omission from the Three Lions’ squad.

“Marcus Rashford was the headline omission but leaving him out was a very good decision,” he said.

“Here’s a bit of reality for you Marcus, you simply haven’t been good enough to warrant selection.”
