Manchester United supporters give strong verdict on Erik ten Hag’s future

Erik ten Hag’s future is yet to be decided with Manchester United yet to give a firm response to the speculation over his job.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag responded in the best way possible to his critics, by winning the 2024 FA Cup and defeating Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Ten Hag outwitted City, and had his team totally prepared for the big occasion. He becomes the first Manchester United manager since Sir Alex Ferguson to win major trophies in back to back seasons.

And still, there is uncertainty over his job. Speculation over his future was intense heading into the final, and new investors Ineos have stayed silent over the Dutchman.

Manchester United fans vote on Erik ten Hag future

Erik ten Hag warned after the FA Cup Final that winning trophies is ‘what I do’, and if Manchester United do not want him, he will win silverware elsewhere.

The ball is in Ineos’ court. For now, he is toasting his success, hoping he will be asked to come back for another season.

24 hours after Manchester United’s FA Cup Final win, we asked the subscribers to our United In Focus WhatsApp Channel to vote on their preference, should Ten Hag stay, or should the club look for a new manager? The results were clear.

  • Keep Erik ten Hag: 87 per cent
  • Sack Erik ten Hag: 13 per cent

The results are astoundingly in favour of Erik ten Hag staying, and this backs what United In Focus heard from supporters at Wembley, who voiced their backing for the manager throughout the big win.

It’s important to note, this had not been a great season, yet, it will go down as a memorable one, because of all the things that had gone wrong, and how Ten Hag had still managed to get his team to a cup final, and then win it, against the top team in the country.

Ineos conducting review

It is Ineos who will have the final say on Erik ten Hag, and they would certainly have some justification for taking a fresh start, after a disappointing eighth placed finish in the league.

BBC Sport say senior figures at United are conducting a review, with no decision taken so far, despite reports leading into the cup final.

Ten Hag was treated disgracefully by the media in the lead-up to the final, and in the aftermath, when he was asked about his job live on air, when he was celebrating the win.

The Dutchman should have earned the right to continue. How many times can you rip it all up and start again?
