Talent Manchester United sold sends message telling ‘superb’ player to join him, he’s leaving for free

Manchester United are set to see several players leave as free agents with a few already confirmed, now a former player has requested one join him.

There is a hope that this summer will see the Manchester United squad get that overhaul it desperately needs under the leadership of Ineos.

This will see multiple players heading for the exit doors with Raphael Varane already confirmed and expected to be joined by Anthony Martial, Jonny Evans and Casemiro.

But the exits will include young players with the U21 squad set to be overhauled next season with many of the treble-winning U18s stepping up which could push the older members of that squad out.

The first victim of this has already been found with Charlie McNeill confirming his departure from United recently. Afterwards, he received multiple messages with one standing out.

Isak Hansen-Aaroen sends Charlie McNeill an interesting message

When McNeill announced he’d be departing the club this summer, there were countless messages from his teammates and former teammates, including Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, whom he won the FA Youth Cup with.

But there was one message which wasn’t like all the others, that being from Norweigan talent Isak Hansen-Aaroen who United sold in January 2024 to Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.

Hansen-Aaroen wasn’t content with his role in the academy and made it known forcing a January exit in the pursuit of first-team football at Bremen, which he got.

The message he sent to McNeill indicates he wants the same thing for his former teammate as he commented, “Come to Bremen” under the post.

While we wouldn’t read too much into this in terms of being a reliable transfer rumour, it is interesting and shows McNeill’s quality that Hansen-Aaroen with his high standards wants him at his new club.

How has Isak Hansen-Aaroen fared since Manchester United exit?

Hansen-Aaroen bet on himself in January to make it away from United and he’s already made three Bundesliga appearances and recently scored a sublime goal in a friendly.

These appearances have only been cameos, but he’s clearly prominent in the thinking of Bremen and likely their best prospect right now.

It’s far more game time than he would’ve got at United which clearly justifies the move for Hansen-Aaroen.

His message to McNeill is likely nothing more than tongue and cheek but it would be a really impressive move for the forward, although we imagine a lower-league club in the EFL is more likely.
