Kobbie Mainoo calls Man Utd teammate the ‘GOAT’ during live stream, drops catchy new nickname that fans will love

Kobbie Mainoo hilariously told Manchester United fans one of his teammates is the ‘GOAT’ and dropped a new nickname for him after the FA Cup final win.

Manchester United closed out the 2023-24 season with a sensational 2-1 win over Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday.

The Red Devils fell short of the FA Cup trophy in Erik ten Hag’s debut season at Old Trafford, with United losing 2-1 to Manchester City in the 2023 final at Wembley.

However, United walked away with the last laugh on this occasion and Erik ten Hag’s men impressed with their superb performance against their crosstown rivals.

Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring at Wembley in the first half after Josko Gvardiol and Stefan Ortega made a collective howler for City.

Josko Gvardiol headed the ball over an onrushing Stefan Ortega before Alejandro Garnacho pounced and put the ball into the back of the empty net.

Kobbie Mainoo then stepped up only nine minutes later and the Manchester United midfielder beat Ortega from close range to double his side’s advantage.

City fought back in the second half and United were forced to weather an onslaught of attack from Pep Guardiola’s men in the FA Cup final.

The Premier League champions eventually made a breakthrough after Jeremy Doku managed to squeeze a long-range strike past Andre Onana in the 87th minute.

However, United saw out the remainder of the match and prevented City from finding the all-important equaliser before the full-time whistle.

Kobbie Mainoo played a starring role in the FA Cup final and the Manchester United star delivered a show-stealing performance at Wembley.

The 19-year-old midfielder earned high praise for his important contribution in the FA Cup win and capped off a superb season for the Red Devils.

Mainoo made a sensational impact in the 2023-24 season for United and established himself as a key midfield figure for Erik ten Hag in the campaign.

He was fast-tracked into the England senior team after his breakout season at Old Trafford and has been included in the Three Lions’ Euro 2024 squad.

Following the FA Cup triumph on the weekend, United fans shared footage of the players celebrating in the team’s dressing room at Wembley.

Amad Diallo went live on Instagram and Mainoo hilariously told the 35,000-plus users who tuned in for the steam that his teammate was the ‘GOAT.’

Mainoo also showed his incredible admiration for Amad Diallo by giving him the nickname ‘Amadinho,’ a reference to Brazil legend Ronaldinho.

“Amadinho is the GOAT. Amad is the GOAT. No, no, no. Amad is the GOAT,” he said.

Diallo played a key role in United’s FA Cup campaign after he came off the bench and scored the extra-time winner against Liverpool in the quarter-finals.

United fans have been left frustrated at times by the lack of playing time for the 21-year-old Ivorian after he returned from a serious knee injury in 2023.

Speaking after the City match, Ten Hag insisted that he was thrilled that United ended their turbulent season with a piece of major silverware.

“Football is about winning trophies at the end of the day,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“I want to play the best football, attacking football, dynamic football. But in the end, you have to win games and trophies.

“That is the mentality we brought in and we had only one opportunity this season in the FA Cup.

“I am very proud of the players and the staff because they did a fantastic job.”
