MP for Newark Robert Jenrick was out campaigning in Winkburn and Maplebeck

MP for Newark was out in the district campaigning ahead of the General Elections.

Robert Jenrick, the Conservative MP for Newark was out knocking on doors until dusk in Winburn and Maplebeck yesterday (May 26).

He was talking to residents and delivering leaflets to promote his policies and fight to maintain his historical seat in Newark at the elections on July 4.

He posted on his Facebook page: “Last night I was knocking on doors until dusk in Winkburn and Maplebeck. With 130 towns and villages from Wiseton to Granby, almost 50 miles apart, campaigning in the Newark constituency is a serious team effort.

“I’m hugely grateful to the amazing volunteers we have the length of the county.

“It’s important to me to reach as many residents as possible and so I will be out and about, pounding the pavements and up and down the lanes of our part of Nottinghamshire.”
