Israeli drone hits and kills a Hezbollah member in south Lebanon

The Israeli army said it killed a member of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia in southern Lebanon on Monday.

Israel's army said it had attacked and eliminated a "Hezbollah terrorist" in the area around Aynata on the border with Israel.

Shortly before the incident, Hezbollah attacked an Israeli post in Malkia in northern Israel.

Israeli warplanes destroyed Hezbollah's infrastructure, the Israeli army said.

The state-run Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) said several people were also injured in the drone attack on a motorcycle.

The Hezbollah-affiliated TV station Al-Manar said ten people were injured. Security sources in Lebanon confirmed that the dead man was a member of the Shiite militia.

Hezbollah did not initially confirm the death of its fighter itself.

The situation on the border between Israel and Lebanon has been getting worse for several weeks. On Sunday, the Israeli military said it had killed seven members of Hezbollah, which is supported by Iran.

Since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip, there have been daily military confrontations between the Israeli army and the Hezbollah militia and other groups in the border area between Israel and Lebanon.

There were deaths on both sides. Mutual shelling has caused severe destruction in towns on both sides of the border. Around 150,000 people were evacuated or left the combat zone.
