Penn State football is looking to make another new hire. The Nittany Lions will soon announce letterman and Super Bowl champ Jordan Hill as their new Director of Life Skills. He will not be the newest member of head coach James Franklin’s team in the Lasch Building. That’s because award-winning video director Jevin Stone is looking for a new staffer. The university has posted the assistant video director position that was previously held by Joe Loosemore on its jobs opening website.

Whoever the new pick is will be tasked with the following according to the job listing:

–Assist the Video Director in coordinating practice and game day video operations regarding schedules, practice plan, film locations and set up, technical support, and media ingest and distribution.

–Assist Video Director in developing short and long-term goals and objectives focused on improving coaches video regarding analysis and support.

–Advise on technological needs in team facility and provide expertise on upcoming projects. Including but not limited to computers, servers, mobile devices, and printers; follow rules and policies set by the conference pertaining to media exchange to NFL scouts, opponents, officials, and others who request.

–Assist the Video Director in maintaining an archive database of external and internal film for future use.

Stone has built an award-winning team at Penn State

Whoever joins Stones’ staff will be coming into an award-winning group. The Collegiate Sports Video Association named Stone the 2023-2024 Video Coordinator of the Year. It also recognized him and his staff as the 2023-2024 Motivational video award winner for its pre-Maryland hype video. And, it also called the video clip Franklin tweets when he shares that a new commitment comes in the short social category winner of the year. You can watch it in the embedded tweet below.

Stone’s staff has been recognized as one of the best in college football repeatedly. Much of their work is regularly viewed. But, they do their work behind the scenes with little fanfare. It is an important job within the program, though, which means Penn State will have no shortage of strong applicants.
