“Hermanito” - Rangers star’s rousing Instagram post drops surprise summer transfer deal hint

How different this season might’ve been for Rangers had Danilo been fit for the duration.

In fact, injury has wrecked the Brazilian striker’s first campaign in Glasgow, with only 12 league appearances in the blue of Rangers to date.

The club’s most expensive signing from last summer, the £6m Rangers paid Feyenoord for Danilo looked like money well spent in the brief moments the striker got onto the park.

But between a fractured cheekbone and a devastating knee injury, it’s money that has so far failed to herald any meaningful return.

Now, Danilo has been snapped getting back to his best at the Rangers Training Centre and whilst the campaign has wound down for some, pre-season is already winding up for others.

Danilo & Cortes ramp up Rangers comebacks

Uploading a clip to Instagram, Rangers striker Danilo can be seen going through an intensive training session with Colombian winger Oscar Cortes.

Both South American players had the early parts of their Rangers careers halted by injury and are rebuilding ahead of next season.

Whilst Danilo will definitely be at Rangers, the Gers are said to be locked in discussions with RC Lens over potentially extending Cortes’s loan deal at Ibrox.

In the meantime, Danilo and Oscar Cortes are ramping up their fitness returns to be ready and firing ahead of what should be an intense Rangers pre-season.

Whilst it’s certainly not confirmation, the fact that Oscar is at the Rangers Training Centre indicates that an extension to his stay at Ibrox is very much in the pipeline.

Take a look at the nasty scar on Danilo’s left knee too!

Rangers look to Latin America in transfer market

Rangers are developing something of a Latin American flavour to the Ibrox squad too.

With fellow Brazilian Jefte only just joining Danilo at Rangers, Panamanian centre-back Jose Cordoba is also reportedly set for a medical this week.

Jose Cifuentes – whose move to Ibrox didn’t work out – is now in Brazil with Cruzeiro but you can never say never when it comes a return to the club.

It’s a region of the world that Rangers are becoming much more prominent in as the club try to source cheap talent before selling players on for high profits.

All of these names are young enough to go on and make a lasting impression at Rangers and they are players who fit the profile of the club’s player trading model.

When it comes to Danilo and Oscar Cortes, they could be like two new signings this summer and fans are excited to see what this attacking pair can bring to Ibrox.
