Ex-Man Utd star Paul Pogba appears to agree with ruthless criticism of Man City star under Pep Guardiola

Former Manchester United star Paul Pogba has appeared to agree with a hot take on one Manchester City star’s performances under manager Pep Guardiola.

Paul Pogba was – and still is – a divisive figure among Manchester United fans over his performances in his second spell at Old Trafford.

The 31-year-old Frenchman returned to the Red Devils in 2016 after he was signed from Serie A side Juventus for a world-record fee at the time of £89m.

Pogba impressed at times during his second run at United, but the 2018 World Cup winner also came under fire for his lack of consistency for the Red Devils.

The former France international lifted a Europa League and a League Cup during Jose Mourinho’s debut season as United manager.

However, Pogba and Mourinho’s relationship fractured towards the end of the former United manager’s run at the Premier League club.

The former United and France midfielder remained at Old Trafford under ex-Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before he left the club in 2022.

Pogba returned to Juventus on a free transfer and his second spell in Turin was marred with injuries, with the Frenchman unable to recapture his scintillating form.

The former United player hasn’t played football since 2023 and is serving a four-year suspension for a doping offence, with Pogba denying any wrongdoings.

Pogba takes swipe at Man City star

Paul Pogba was provisionally suspended last September after it was found that he had elevated levels of testosterone in his system following a drugs test.

The Juventus player was handed his four-year ban back in February and it was dated back to the date of when he failed his drugs test.

Pogba, who previously said he would appeal the decision against him, is now unable to play football until 2027 and will be 34 by the time he returns to the pitch.

The Rondo Podcast posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, a clip from the show where Pogba appeared to agree with the criticism levelled against Jack Grealish.

Jack Grealish became a British record transfer at the time of his signing for Manchester City after he was landed for £100m from Aston Villa in 2021.

Despite remaining part of Pep Guardiola’s plans at the club, the 28-year-old City star has failed to live up to the high expectations placed on his shoulders.

One of the podcasters on the Rondo Podcast brutally slated Grealish’s time at City while staunchly defending Pogba’s track record at United.

The Rondo Podcast posted the clip on X alongside a screenshot of Pogba’s official Instagram account liking the ruthless criticism of Grealish.

Pogba’s ban made former Man Utd star sad

Juan Mata admitted that he had a close relationship with Pogba when he was at Old Trafford and felt sorry for the Frenchman after he was handed down his ban.

Speaking to FourFourTwo magazine in May, he said: “We had a lot of conversations about football.

“He was a fantastic guy: cheerful and supportive, with a very positive aura about him.

“Everything that’s happened to him lately makes me sad. He has absolutely everything as a footballer.”
