MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. — Inside Texas is on location in Destin, Fla. for Southeastern Conference Spring Meetings ahead of the Texas Longhorns’ first season in the SEC. To kick off the week, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey held a 40-minute press conference with the media where he touched on a variety of topics.

Some of the questions Sankey fielded were related to the recent settlements his conference, the NCAA, and several others reached in the House v. NCAA case that are now pending approval by the presiding judge. Other topics include more details on Name, Image, and Likeness, kickoff time tidbits, gambling and availability, his thoughts on the Jaden Rashada lawsuit against Florida head coach Billy Napier, and the future of the SEC in the ever-changing college athletics landscape.
Talk about Texas and Oklahoma joining the league is limited, but it’s sure to be a focus later this week as University of Texas president Jay Hartzell, athletics director Chris Del Conte, and head coaches Steve Sarkisian, Rodney Terry, and Vic Schaefer make their way to the Florida beach to plan out their future in a new league.
