Report: Manchester United star signed by Ten Hag not part of 2024/25 plans, whoever is manager

Manchester United are expecting to sell Casemiro this summer and are looking to sell him to the Saudi Pro League.

Casemiro was a surprise absentee from the FA Cup final squad. The official line is that the midfielder was injured.

The Brazilian had been expected to start the game, but was soon forgotten aftera terrific display from stand-in Sofyan Amrabat.

Amrabat’s performance showed how replaceable Casemiro is, and he is expected to leave the club this summer if Manchester United can find a buyer.

Casemiro not part of Manchester United plans

Casemiro, 32, is two years into a four-year contract and is one of the club’s highest earning players.

He left United’s post-match finals celebrations early after the final, pictured on a private jet with his family before midnight.

Casemiro was one of Erik ten Hag’s early signings at Manchester United. But after an excellent first season, his form has been declining.

Goal Brasil report that whoever is manager next season, Casemiro is not part of Ineos‘ plans moving forward. A review is currently taking place into Erik ten Hag’s role at the club.

It is added that talks are expected between Casemiro and ‘Red Devils management’ to define his future.

United will have to take a loss on the £60 million fee paid to sign him a year ago, and finding a club might not be easy.

Al-Nassr have reservations for three reasons

One club considering a move for Casemiro is Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, who already have Cristiano Ronaldo on the books.

Casemiro is described as a ‘major target’ for the Saudi Pro League, but whether it is Al-Nassr he joins, remains to be seen.

It is claimed that while United want to earn back £30 million for Casemiro, Al-Nassr have ‘skepticism’ over a move.

There are three reservations they have over a move. One is that they already have former Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic at his position and may look to invest in other areas.

The other two concerns relate to both Casemiro’s age, and his form, which has evidently been on a downwards spiral in 2023/24, leading to him recently losing his place in the Brazil international squad.
