The Polish government should not rule out sending troops to Ukraine, according to Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski.

However, the minister did not specify what role Polish troops would play.

When asked whether Poland was ready to send troops to Ukraine, Sikorski replied "We shouldn't rule it out. We should leave Putin guessing as to our intentions."

Sikorski previously stated that the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine was "not unthinkable."

Possible deployment of troops in Ukraine

In February, French President Emmanuel Macron proposed sending foreign troops to Ukraine. After that, several countries criticized the French leader's initiative, saying that it could lead to an escalation with Russia.

At the same time, some EU countries said they were ready to consider such a possibility.

Later, France explained that it was about deploying military personnel to train Ukrainian soldiers on the ground.

According to German media Der Spiegel, the Baltic states and Poland do not rule out sending their troops to Ukraine if Russia succeeds on the battlefield.
