'He's the Mainoo can't be moved'... The Script release tribute to Manchester United FA Cup hero

The Manchester United FA Cup final match-winner Kobbie Mainoo’s star is on the rise and now he’s been dedicated a song.

The dust has now settled after the incredible weekend that Manchester United fans everywhere will have enjoyed as the FA Cup came home to Old Trafford for the 13th time.

In the final, Erik ten Hag got it all right, and the performance may have just saved his job as Ineos deliberated over a decision on his future.

The game was won as the two teenagers on the pitch scored a goal a piece to put United clear in the first half, first through Alejandro Garnacho and then Kobbie Mainoo.

Mainoo has become a real star and now heads to England duty ahead of a potential summer in Germany. But before he goes, he’ll love the song that The Script has written for him.

The Script release a Kobbie Mainoo tribute song after the FA Cup final

After Manchester United lifted the FA Cup final, the popular Irish band, The Script whose frontman, Danny O’Donoghue, is a United fan, posted a song dedicated to Kobbie Mainoo after the cup final win.

It was shared the band’s social media account with the singer-songwriter looking to be in the studio. Below are the lyrics to the song he performed.

“He’s the Mainoo can’t be moved,

“Cos it’s the FA Cup and you’re playing City,

“And your heart starts to wonder if Ten Hag’s gonna leave,

“Then that boy Garnacho goes and puts us in the lead,

“You’ll hear us there at Wembley all standing on our seats,

“We’re not moving, We’re not moving no. We’re not moving no,

“He’s the Mainoo can’t be moved”

Under the video, it was captioned, “The Mainoo can’t be moved!!! Congrats @manchesterunited”.

It feels like a new generation at Manchester United

The cup final win feels like it’s started a brand new era at United, with the two 19-year-old goalscorers being the figureheads.

Mainoo and Garnacho have been two of the best players at the club this past season and now they’ve been instrumental in winning a trophy.

It feels like this is a turning point moment heading into a summer which promises to bring a positive change to the squad and then a far better 2024-25 than 2023-24.

The Script’s song names Garnacho and Mainoo and this says it all really about who the current stars of the club are. The new generation has arrived at United and they’re set for a special career.
