'On the radar': Journalist is hearing 'whispers' Arsenal could move for £80m Man United attacker

Arsenal are set for a big summer transfer window, and some very interesting rumours are starting to emerge from the Emirates.

Indeed, there’s been a lot of speculation about what Arsenal may do this summer, and speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Dean Jones has claimed that there have been some whispers about Marcus Rashford potentially joining the Gunners.

Jones says that he’s not been able to fully firm up this story as of yet, but he has heard whispers that Rashford could be an option for the north London club this summer. Although, he believes this move is rather unlikely.

Marcus Rashford to Arsenal suggestions

Jones shared what he knows about this situation and how likely Rashford is to join Arsenal.

“Marcus Rashford is Man United through and through, it would take a huge moment for him to leave that club,” Jones said.

“There are whsipers about a move to Arsenal, a respected Arsenal ITK account suggested there have been discussions between Rashford’s camp and Arteta. I haven’t been able to solidify that information, but it would be quite a thing to make up, and I don’t believe anybody would do that, it’s too big a rumour.

“Can Rashford actually join Arsenal? I think there is scope there to upgrade on the left, but is Rashford elite anymore and he’s on about £350k-a-week, he will be labelled up at £80m. Can I see Arsenal meeting all of that criteria? I think it’s unlikely, but I thought I’d put it on the radar today.”

Marcus Rashford could be perfect for Arsenal

As much as Manchester United fans will hate to hear this, Rashford to Arsenal is a transfer that makes the world of sense.

It looks at the moment as though the pressure of playing for his boyhood club is becoming a bit too much for Rashford, and a fresh start under a manager who has a proven track record of improving players who are at a low ebb could be just what the doctor ordered.

Rashford would fit brilliantly into this Arsenal team, and the Emirates could be the perfect destination for him to rebuild his career.

As Jones says, this one is unlikely, but it may be a story to keep half an eye on.
