Club reportedly now fear losing teenage attacker to Manchester United after long-standing interest

Manchester United fans are expecting major first-team additions this summer but Ineos may also look to bring top talents to Old Trafford.

The feeling around United is very different to what it was even just a fortnight ago.

United had lost to Crystal Palace and Arsenal, leaving fans to feel that the season just couldn’t end soon enough.

Erik ten Hag then guided United to wins over Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion, ending the Premier League campaign on a high.

United took that into Saturday’s FA Cup final, producing a superb and somewhat unexpected performance to beat Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.

Ten Hag has given himself a real chance of convincing Ineos into keeping him on board ahead of what promises to be a huge summer for United.

Manchester United want Igor Tyjon

Ineos certainly need to ensure that major first-team additions arrive this summer after a disappointing Premier League campaign.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is likely to take a long-term approach to United’s rebuild though and that may include signing some talented prospects.

Homegrown talents must be a focus and The Sun’s Alan Nixon now claims that United are interested in signing Blackburn Rovers teenager Igor Tyjon.

It’s stated that fears are growing inside Blackburn that United will come in with a move for Tyjon this summer.

Rovers allegedly want to tie Tyjon down to a new deal in an attempt to fend off United but the Championship club could lose their youngster.

Brighton and Crystal Palace have shown an interest too but Tyjon – formerly of Rochdale – may be tempted by a move to Old Trafford.

The 16-year-old has already been on the bench in two Championship games for Rovers and scored twice in three games at Premier League 2 level.

An England Under-16 international who can also play for Poland, Tyjon has a big future ahead of him – and that future could come with United.

United previously had Tyjon on trial

A move to sign Tyjon would be quite the turn of events having previously snubbed the chance to sign him.

Tyjon’s father Marcin spoke to Onet in Poland back in April and discussed the teenager’s career to date.

Tyjon senior noted that a number of clubs rejected the striker as a kid; Everton, Liverpool, even Preston North End.

They all had a look at Tyjon and decided not to sign him and it was a similar story at United.

Tyjon featured in games for the United ranks but wasn’t snapped up, paving the way for a move to Rochdale instead.

United continued watching Tyjon and may now have a real chance to bring him to Old Trafford permanently after all.

Tyjon would certainly be one for the future at United but Ineos may now move to lure him away from Ewood Park with a view to turning him into a star at United.
