Tata Martino confirms if Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez will play for Inter Miami vs Atlanta

Tata Martino has confirmed if Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez will be fit enough to play for Inter Miami tomorrow against Atlanta United.

The duo missed Saturday’s trip to Vancouver where the Herons claimed an impressive 2-1 win in one of their longest away trips of the season against the Whitecaps.

With Messi expected to play his final Inter Miami game this weekend against St. Louis City SC, the Argentine has just two fixtures left to win as many points as possible for the Florida franchise before heading off to the Copa America.

And Martino has now issued an update on Messi’s fitness, along with Suarez.

Messi and Suarez expected to feature for Inter Miami vs Atlanta

Speaking to the press, Martino confirmed that Messi and Suarez are in line to feature for Inter Miami tomorrow against Atlanta, with the duo also expected to play on Saturday against St. Louis.

With the Herons on a ten-game unbeaten run, a win midweek against Martino’s former side will be huge in Inter Miami’s bid to qualify for the MLS playoffs at the earliest possible opportunity.

Indeed, Inter Miami showed on Saturday that they can win against good opposition without Messi and Suarez, yet having the pair back for tomorrow’s game will be a huge boost for the Florida giants.

And if Messi and Suarez can remain fit enough to also play on the weekend against St. Louis, Inter Miami find themselves in a good position to win their next two games before the duo heads off to the Copa America.

Inter Miami need to see the best from Messi and Suarez this week

With two games left before players start departing for the Copa America, Inter Miami know they need to see the best from their two superstar attackers this week.

Six points will put Inter Miami in an incredible position both to qualify for the MLS playoffs and to strengthen their lead at the top of the Supporters’ Shield standings.

Indeed, Inter Miami are proving they can win games without Messi and Suarez, yet that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t use them if they’re fit and available, which the duo now are for this week.
