Arsenal chances of Marcus Rashford transfer now emerge amid 'whispers' over shock move

Arsenal’s chances of signing Marcus Rashford this summer have now emerged amid ongoing ‘whsipers’ surrounding a move.

The Manchester United winger has been linked with a shock switch to the north London giants as Arsenal prepare to sign a new wide-attacker this summer, with Rashford seemingly an option for the Gunners.

Having struggled with the Red Devils this season and recently missing out on a place in England’s squad for the Euros, Rashford could do with a change of scenery this summer to get his career back on track after a year of stagnation at United.

And Arsenal’s odds of signing Rashford could be higher than first thought.

Arsenal could be an option for Rashford this summer

Speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, journalist Dean Jones shared that Arsenal could be an option for Rashford this summer if the United winger did decide to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Jones said when asked what’s been said about Arsenal moving for Rashford: “Marcus Rashford is Man United through and through, it would take a huge moment for him to leave that club.

“There are whsipers about a move to Arsenal, a respected Arsenal ITK account suggested there have been discussions between Rashford’s camp and Arteta. I haven’t been able to solidify that information, but it would be quite a thing to make up, and I don’t believe anybody would do that, it’s too big a rumour.

“Can Rashford actually join Arsenal? I think there is scope there to upgrade on the left, but is Rashford elite anymore and he’s on about £350,000-a-week, he will be labelled up at £80m. Can I see Arsenal meeting all of that criteria? I think it’s unlikely.”

Mikel Arteta could green light summer move for Rashford

A wide-attacker is clearly on Arsenal’s agenda this summer, with backup for Bukayo Saka as well as options out on the left and down the middle also something the Gunners can do with this window.

And in Rashford, Arsenal could have a player who can manage all three problems, with the 26-year-old a player who could also thrive under Mikel Arteta, who has shown with Kai Havertz that he can breathe new life into fallen stars.

Indeed, whilst the finances of such a deal to bring Rashford to north London could be huge, it’s a risk that Arsenal should consider, and the attacker himself might be sold on joining the Gunners if a bid was to be made.
