Two PL clubs want £70m-rated Nottingham Forest star but one sees him as a left-back - journalist

One Nottingham Forest star is currently being courted by two Premier League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

Right now, the window for clubs to sign players isn’t open just yet – but plans are already being put in place.

Forest will need to sell players before June 30th to avoid another points deduction for breaching profitability and sustainability regulations.

Nuno Espirito Santo will want his team to be judged solely on the pitch this season, with four points taken from his team during 2023/24.

Now, it’s emerged that one player is being monitored by two clubs with bids likely to come for some top stars.

Two Premier League clubs want Forest star Murillo

Daniel Taylor, the Forest supporting journalist, has been doing a Q&A with The Athletic today and he’s discussed the future of Murillo.

He’s claimed that two Premier League clubs are very keen on bidding for Murillo once the transfer window opens.

Furthermore, he’s suggested that one Premier League sees him as a left-back rather than a centre-back where he’s excelled since coming to Forest.

Murillo was ever-present in the Premier League after making his debut against Brentford back in October.

Forest held off competition from Manchester City before he made a £10.4 million move to the City Ground in the summer.

It’s been claimed more recently that Forest might value Murillo as much as £70 million and that would represent significant profit.

Forest fighting losing battle to keep star defender

Given where Forest sit in the food chain, the club are going to be at the mercy of bigger clubs this summer.

There is also the added caveat of financial fair play hanging over the Reds.

Murillo looks like he will leave this summer and if he does, Forest will make a significant profit on his sale.

The 21-year-old has proved a tremendous talent and ultimately, the big challenge is to replace him with a player who is of similar quality.

Forest have unearthed some real gems from South America and hopefully, the club are working on a replacement for the left side of the defence if he does leave.

It’s a shame that Forest won’t be able to keep Murillo but the current situation is going to make that extremely difficult this summer.
