Manchester United manager latest, Ineos stance on Erik Ten Hag and potential replacements

Manchester United are conducting their end of season review which will include their final analysis of manager Erik Ten Hag, once finished this will decide if he has a future at the club.

HITC sources confirmed before the FA Cup final that the club had NOT made a decision on Ten Hag – despite numerous reports to the contrary, and that is how things have panned out.

Now the club’s new footballing department led by INEOS are assessing how this season has played out as a whole, including their FA Cup victory over Manchester City.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is overseeing the overall assessment, with board members Sir Dave Brailsford and Jean-Claude Banc – also acting CEO – are feeding into him along with new technical director Jason Wilcox.

Discussions are now taking place assessing the team’s performance and generally whether they will be better off with Ten Hag going forward, or without him.

Man United top-brass were split on Erik Ten Hag future

Going into the weekend, sources have confirmed to HITC that the club’s top brass were actually split on what the future held for Ten Hag – some feeling he should continue, whilst others that the club needed a change.

Ten Hag is known to have been aggrieved by INEOS doing their due diligence on possible replacements, but he and his people have been told by United that there was a need for that to happen.

However, as it stands talks with prospective replacements have not progressed beyond initial indications of interest.

HITC, though, understands that as part of the review – whilst discussing and deciding Ten Hag’s future, the club will also look at what options are available should they move on from home. How plausible those options are, could have a direct bearing on the Dutchman’s future.

Ratcliffe is anxious to make sure that previous mistakes made by the club are not repeated, the emphasis on the new regime at Old Trafford is to return to the club to the very top, both on and off-the-field.

HITC understands that the club will not look to move on from Ten Hag unless it is going to benefit them in the long-term.

Sources insist that there will be no knee-jerk reactions or decisions based purely to appease the fans will be made when it comes to Ten Hag or any possible replacement.
