Eden Hazard says £54m Man City player is even better than Romelu Lukaku

Eden Hazard has said that one Manchester City player is better than Romelu Lukaku.

In addition to scoring 110 goals and delivering 85 assists in 352 appearances for Chelsea, the former winger also scored 33 goals in 126 senior games for Belgium.

For club and country, the 33-year-old featured in 80 games with Lukaku, racking up nine joint goal participations along the way.

Now though, with another European Championship around the corner, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid attacker has shared his thoughts on who he considers to be some of the best players in world football right now.

In fact, one question put towards him saw a current City star and one of Hazard’s former national teammates get a special mention.

In a recent video shared on the talkSPORT TikTok channel, Hazard was asked to share who he thinks the best player is right now for a variety of different countries.

When asked who he feels the best Belgian player is, Hazard picked Kevin De Bruyne ahead of Lukaku.

De Bruyne vs Lukaku

Since joining the Manchester club from Wolfsburg back in the 2015 summer transfer window in a deal worth a reported fee of £54m, the midfielder has scored 102 goals and supplied 170 assists in 382 appearances across all competitions.

In comparison, in 321 combined Premier League appearances for Manchester United, Chelsea and Everton, the striker has scored 144 goals and delivered 41 assists.

In 47 appearances for Roma this season, the 31-year-old scored 21 goals in total, showing how much of a capable striker he still is.

With that in mind, while it may not surprise most City fans, the fact that Hazard picked De Bruyne as the best Belgium player over the likes of Lukaku shows just how much he admires his former national teammate.
