People fear man's ‘human sitting’ dog has been replaced by a ‘skinwalker’

Social media addicts are concerned for a dog owner after some suggested a skinwalker had replaced her pooch.

With each dog comes a unique personality that is bound to drive you up the wall with bizarre habits and an overwhelming need for belly rubs. If they’re not doing something that triggers concerns over their mental aptitude, they are bound to be demonstrating just why you think of them so highly. As demonstrated by a recent viral TikTok, some dogs spark more concern than others.

It’s not a dog, it’s a skinwalker

At the start of the week, TikTok user Lawrence (@lawrencesky) posted a video that sparked a great reaction from fans with a whopping 74.2 million views and 9.2 million likes. His shocking discovery definitely blew recent frustrations over dog tricks out of the water.

“Trying to find the zipper on my Goldendoodle after this,” he captioned the post, which showed his pooch sitting on his circular staircase. It’s worth noting that by sitting, we mean literally sitting.

As Lawrence panned the camera, his dog noticed him and adjusted his posture slightly. It was also more apparent that the dog was sitting on the above step and leaning forward, though this didn’t reduce the creep factor.

Because of his dog’s less-than-normal sitting position, fans suggested that Lawrence’s dog was not in the video at all. It was a skinwalker.

To the Navajo people, a skinwalker is a type of witch who can disguise themselves as various animals. Over the years, the mythological creatures have been adapted into various works of fiction including the popular Harry Potter series and CW’s Supernatural, though it’s worth mentioning that Native American communities often criticize such inclusions.

On social media, where alleged videos of skinwalkers rack up millions of views, the creatures have become a sort of urban legend linked with various disappearances in the nation’s National Park system. There is even a set of rules that people in areas like Appalachia are forced to abide by for their safety.

Shockingly, a lot of social media users reported similar eerie instances with their own Goldendoodles, seemingly the suggesting it has less to do with fantasy creatures and more to do with the breed’s predispostion to being creepy.

“I just told my wife last night that I think our goldendoodle is a skinwalker. They are too human,” someone admitted.

A second said: “I’d be yelling ‘REVEAL YOURSELF!!!”

“My husband and I always joke that golden doodles have little human souls trapped in them because of their eyes but seeing this makes it kind of too real and scary now,” another person commented.
