Midfielder Jim Kellermann has become Ebbsfleet’s first signing of the summer.
The 28-year-old joins from National League rivals Woking, where he has spent the past two seasons.
Kellermann scored from the penalty spot against Ebbsfleet last season when the teams drew 1-1 at Kingfield in September.
But, having made 19 appearances for Woking, he missed the second half of the campaign due to injury.
He’ll be ready to hit the ground running at the start of pre-season, however.
“It’s a good opportunity for me,” Kellermann told FleetTV. “I’m looking forward to getting into a new project.
“(The manager) didn’t have to sell much. I’ve played against Ebbsfleet a number of times, it’s a tough place to come here.
“I loved every minute of being at Woking, the first year was really good and we got the most points in a season in their history.
“I picked up quite a lot of injuries last year, especially a shoulder one which I had to have surgery on so I missed a lot of the relegation battle.”
Kellermann is no stranger to the National League having featured for Aldershot, AFC Fylde, Kidderminster and Chesterfield.
He’s reached the play-offs with a number of those clubs – even competing against the Fleet for Aldershot in 2018 – so knows exactly what it takes to be fighting at the right end of the table.
“I’ve been around the block now so I know what it’s like,” added Kellermann, who was named players’ player-of-the-year at Woking in 2022/23.
“I bring a bit of experience now, especially in this league. I know what it takes to get up and around the play-offs, those little moments in games.
“It’s a tough league, I don’t think people give it enough credit. It’s really difficult and games come thick and fast.
“The Christmas months are tough especially and you’ve really got to dig in, that’s what I’ve learnt from playing in this league for so long.
“It’s going to be an open playing field, that doesn’t make it easier, it makes it a lot tougher.
“Teams will be beating each other across the league but if you get a bit of momentum then you can really put your foot down.”
Kellermann initially came through the academy at Wolves, before joining Aldershot in 2016. He’s also had a spell in Scotland with St Mirren.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Chris Haigh has signed for National League South Worthing after his Fleet exit was announced on Monday.
