Zelenskyy and Macron

Macron confirmed he and Zelenskyy will talk during the event attended by many world leaders.

“I will have the opportunity to host President Zelenskyy next week when he comes to France for the D-Day commemoration events in Normandy,” French news channel TF1info quoted Macron on May 28.

The French president added that he plans to discuss further support for Ukraine during their meeting.

Earlier on May 28, Macron stated that Ukraine should have the right to strike military targets on Russian territory with Western weapons.

“We think that we should allow them to neutralize military sites where missiles are fired, from where... Ukraine is attacked,” said Macron.

“But we should not allow them to touch other targets in Russia, and obviously civilian facilities.”

On May 27, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said he had signed documents allowing French military instructors to integrate in Ukraine’s army structure, although Paris is yet to take the decision to send personnel to Ukraine.
