Aaron Rodgers knows that he will have his challenges once the New York Jets 2024 schedule kicks off this fall. While speaking with reporters last week, Rodgers talked about the Jets starting the season with three games in 10 days.

“The Thursday games are always tough, doesn’t matter if you’re a first-year player or 20-year player,” Rodgers said. “A little bit harder probably at 20 years than first year as far as being able to bounce back. I’m sure that Robert [Saleh] will do some creative things with the schedule.

“…Two road games and then a Thursday home game will be interesting. You love the Thursdays because of the weekend (and) and mini-bye. But to start the season out like that is definitely a good challenge for us.”

The Jets will kick off the season on Sept. 9 on the road against the San Francisco 49ers. They will be on the road in Week 2 to take on the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 15. And four days later, the Jets will have their first home game of the year, taking on the New England Patriots. The Jet’s first and third games will be nationally televised.

Aaron Rodgers expresses his love for Jets fans and New York

Rodgers may not be a big fan of how the first three games are scheduled but is happy to be back on the field. The Super Bowl champion quarterback suffered an Achilles injury in the first game of the 2023 season and missed the rest of the year. During a recent appearance on The Official Jets Podcast, Rodgers talked about his appreciation for the Jets, the fans and the city of New York.

“Everything was new,” he said. “New city. New state to live in. New facility, new teammates and coaching staff, awesome men and women at work here at One Jets Drive. The fanbase. You know all of the things that we did last year in the summertime, the Broadway stuff, the restaurants, late nights and pizza spots. It was a different place, a different city, and then just to run on the field with the American flag … I’ve never done that before. On 9/11. And just how electric that was.

“There’s been a lot of beauty that’s come out of the heartbreak and frustration and I’m gonna try and channel as much as I can to this season, these guys, trying to give our fans a lot to cheer about.”
