The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $489 million with a cash option of $226.5 million.
The drawing will be held at 10:59 p.m. and televised on WABC-7 in New York City and Fox 29 in Philadelphia. NJ.com will publish the winning numbers immediately following the drawing.
While no one across the country hit Friday’s $453 million jackpot, a pair of second-prize ticket were sold, each of which matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball.
A ticket sold in in Texas is worth $3 million instead of the standard $1 million since the winner spent an extra $1 for the Megaplier option.
Meanwhile, a ticket bought in California is valued at $242,155. California lottery prizes vary depending on ticket sales and number of winners. They differ from the fixed second prizes offered in other participating states.
Friday’s winning numbers were: 46, 54, 56, 67 and 70. The Mega Ball drawn was 16 with a Megaplier of 3x.
The jackpot has been growing since someone who bought a ticket at ShopRite in Neptune Township won the massive $1.13 billion prize on March 26. It’s the biggest prize ever won in New Jersey and the eighth largest in U.S. lottery history.
Theodds of a $2 ticket winning the Mega Millions jackpot by matching five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1.
Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of a ticket matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball and winning at least $1 million. The odds of matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball for a prize valued of at least $10,000 are 931,001 to 1.
Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is worth an estimated $143 million with a cash option of $66.8 million.
