Russia's losses in Ukraine as of May 29: 1,300 troops and 37 artillery systems

Russian forces suffered losses of 1,300 troops between May 28 and 29, bringing the total number of soldiers lost since the full-scale invasion began to over 505,000. Additionally, Ukrainian forces destroyed 33 enemy armored personnel vehicles and 37 artillery systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia's losses in the war from February 24, 2022 to May 29, 2024 are estimated as follows:

  • Personnel: 505,100 (+1,300) eliminated
  • Tanks: 7,700 (+8)
  • Armored personnel vehicles: 14,891 (+33)
  • Artillery systems: 13,066 (+37)
  • MLRS: 1,087 (+2)
  • Anti aircraft warfare systems: 815
  • Aircraft: 357 (+1)
  • Helicopters: 326
  • UAV operational-tactical level: 10,510 (+28)
  • Cruise missiles: 2,222
  • Warships/boats: 27
  • Submarines: 1
  • Vehicles and fuel tankers: 17,796 (+56)
  • Special equipment: 2,142 (+20)

On the night of May 29, Ukrainian air defenses shot down 13 out of 14 Shahed drones launched at Ukraine.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, Ukrainian Defense Forces have made gains in the Kharkiv direction.

Meanwhile, Russian forces continue to bombard Vovchansk with thermobaric munitions.
