Lynn Road between A10 and Wimbotsham closed for four weeks during Norfolk County Council pavement resurfacing work

A key road connecting residents to the A10 will be closed for four weeks while pavement resurfacing work is carried out.

Norfolk County Council work to fix up the pavement of Lynn Road, from the A10 junction stretching into Wimbotsham, started yesterday.

This is expected to take four weeks to complete, weather permitting, and will be carried out between the hours of 7am and 7pm until Friday, June 21.

The work will see the old, damaged pavement surface and kerbs removed and replaced, while damaged tactile paving will be replaced and a new asphalt surface laid.

Lynn Road was be closed to through traffic until the resurfacing is complete, although vehicular access to properties will be maintained.

This means that Downham residents who use the road to access the A10 will need to find an alternative route.

A fully signed diversion route is in place.

The work, which is expected to cost around £37,000, is being carried out by the county council’s community and environmental services department and its contractors.

A council statement said: “The county council would like to thank people for their patience while these pavement improvement works are carried out.”
