Leeds have three Crysencio Summerville replacement options, including Liverpool star and stunning return - opinion

Leeds United are preparing for a busy summer transfer window, one which could see them lose star players such as Crysencio Summerville.

The Whites narrowly missed out on a return to the Premier League during the regular Championship campaign, with Daniel Farke forced to take his side through the play-offs.

Leeds made easy work of Norwich City in the play-off semi-final second leg at Elland Road, moving one step closer to the top flight.

It wasn’t to be though, as Leeds lost to Southampton in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium, condemning them to another year in the second tier.

It sets up a tough summer ahead, with yet more change expected to take hold of the squad in the coming weeks.

One player who appears set for an exit is Crysencio Summerville, as links with a move to Liverpool and Chelsea continue to arise

With a potential move on the cards, Leeds must start looking towards replacements for the Dutch winger in the transfer market.

Crysencio Summerville transfer replacements

Jack Clarke

One player Leeds could consider landing for their left wing is a former academy graduate in Sunderland’s Jack Clarke.

The 23-year-old has started to show the quality he was touted with roughly five years ago, just before he left Thorp Arch to join Tottenham for roughly £10million.

As part of a struggling Sunderland side, Clarke managed to score 15 goals with four assists along the way.

The former Leeds star is right-footed and has proven he is deadly when cutting in from the left to strike from range.

With some funds likely to be raised from any sale of Summerville, the Yorkshire outfit could make a stunning return for Clarke with their boosted transfer budget.

Fabio Carvalho

Leeds could leverage any potential negotiations with Liverpool for Summerville to land Fabio Carvalho as his replacement.

The 21-year-old can play on both wings as well as an attacking midfielder, adding versatility to the frontline.

Carvalho spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan with Hull City, where he scored nine goals and bagged two assists in 20 appearances.

With a goal almost every other game, the Portuguese youth international has shown he is more than capable of being a top Championship player with room to grow even further.

Jaden Philogene

Another star of the Hull City side of 2023/24, Jaden Philogene, is next on the list of potential replacements for Summerville.

The 22-year-old is also capable of playing on both flanks and has only seen his stock rise since joining the Tigers from Aston Villa in the summer of 2023.

With 12 goals and six assists in 32 appearances, it’s clear that Philogene has some quality now and plenty more promise for the future.

Any move from Leeds would allow them to pick up a capable Summerville replacement for a fraction of the price they sell him for.
