Newark Foodbank on Cartergate received over 500 kilograms of food donations from a food drive held at Asda Newark on Lombard Street

Over 500kg of food donations were made to a foodbank at a food drive.

Between the weekend of May 17 and May 19, charities and volunteers from foodbanks across The Trussell Trust network visited Asda stores up and down the country for food drives.

Volunteers from Newark Foodbank, on Cartergate, visited Asda Newark, on Lombard Street visited the store on May 18 to hand out a shopping list.

Sinead Hinch, Asda Newark Community Champion said “We made a donation of goods from our store budget to kickstart the food drive.

“The amount of items donated in such a short period of time is absolutely amazing, our customers are so generous. A big thank you to everyone who made a donation.”
