Jurgen Klopp aims dig at Chelsea owners after leaving his role as Liverpool manager

Jurgen Klopp has fired one last parting shot at Chelsea as he prepares to leave the Premier League following his departure from Liverpool.

The Premier League winner left his role with at least one trophy under his belt, with his side winning the EFL Cup following the final against Chelsea.

A lot of criticism went the way of Mauricio Pochettino and his players, who certainly had the chances in front of goal to bring the trophy to Stamford Bridge.

Despite the fact both managers that day are now out of a job at their respective sides, the circumstances surrounding them leaving are very different.

When Pochettino was sacked last week, very few actually put the blame on what was happening on the pitch for the reason he was removed from his post.

Instead, many came to the conclusion that it was off-field matters, likely revolving around transfers, that were the final nail in his coffin.

Klopp aims dig at Chelsea owners

Klopp was clearly not a massive fan of the way he was removed from his post, saying to The Telegraph that he is delighted he has not been working under the current owners.

He said: “We should be really happy we have them [Fenway Sports Group, which owns Liverpool] and not guys who bought London clubs. I wouldn’t have survived a year at Liverpool.”

Chelsea set to hire Enzo Maresca

It is almost confirmed that Chelsea are going to announce Enzo Maresca as their next manager, after positive talks with the Italian.

It has been reported that the Leicester City man has an in depth knowledge of the current squad, as well as a plan in place to get the best out of Enzo Fernandez.

With both Liverpool and Chelsea going into their new eras next season, it remains to be seen which side hits the ground running fastest with their new manager.

The Blues will be hoping for an impact similar to the one had by Mikel Arteta when he took over the reigns at Arsenal, with them now seen as one of the top sides in world football.
