Russian troops are using the captured Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) as a military base for Chechen militants, according to the Center for National Resistance.

As reported, Chechen units of the Russian National Guard Ahmat (OMON - system of special police units within the National Guard of Russia and SOBR - Special Rapid Response Unit) are stationed at the Zaporizhzhia NPP, where they have established a base. The Chechens have even set up a shooting range in one of the buildings.

According to the Center for National Resistance, the presence of militants and their equipment at the station is explained by the occupiers as supposedly providing security for the facility, but in reality, the equipment and militants are involved in patrolling the city and in repression against Ukrainians.

Situation at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

Russian troops seized the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Furthermore, the aggressors converted Zaporizhzhia into a military facility, deploying soldiers and equipment there, and also mined the station's territory.

In addition, Russian forces are using kamikaze drones over the nuclear reactors of the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Ukrainian intelligence has provided video evidence of this.

It's also worth noting that the station has experienced blackouts on multiple occasions.

Recently, the Russian army claimed another "drone attack" on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in an attempt to blame Ukraine for it.
