Currently, Ukraine's invitation to join NATO remains on the agenda. At the same time, the United States and Germany are against setting a time frame for integration, according to the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna.

According to Stefanishyna, she has assurances from Ukraine's allies that the decisions of the NATO summit will include a specific position on membership in the Alliance, its irreversibility, and a roadmap. Dialogue on the invitation is ongoing.

Commenting on an article stating that Germany and the United States warned against offering Ukraine a clear timeframe during the summit, Stefanishyna said that it was not a secret.

“... The US and Germany do not support a consensus on this issue. There is no news there, and the headline itself, in my opinion, is an element of a disinformation campaign aimed at discrediting our efforts regarding the decisions that are being prepared for Washington,” she added.

Ukraine's accession to NATO

Ukraine applied for NATO membership at the beginning of the full-scale war with the Russian Federation. Several partners are concerned that the country's integration into the alliance could lead to war with Russia.

As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted, Ukraine will become a NATO member after winning the war.

In early April, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the United States expects to discuss the development of a roadmap during the NATO summit to be held on July 9-11 in Washington.
