'Mother Teresa Couldn't Beat These Charges' Says Trump as Jury Weighs His Fate in Hush Money Case

President Trump came out and spoke to reporters shortly after the jury began deliberations in his New York hush money trial.

"Mother Teresa could not beat these charges," Trump said after repeating his frequent claim that the judge in the case is conflicted and corrupt.

Trump also mocked "Goodfellas" actor Robert De Niro for his press conference outside the courthouse on Tuesday.

"He's a fool. He's a broken-down fool standing out there," Trump said. "He got MAGA'd out there."

Judge Juan M. Merchan spent more than an hour on Wednesday morning giving instructions to the jury on how to conduct their deliberations.

Trump faces 34 charges in connection with a $130,000 payment made to former adult film star Stormy Daniels.

The 12-member jury could decide to convict him on all charges, some charges or acquit him.

The seven men and five women who make up the jury have to agree on any decision. If they deadlock, Judge Juan M. Merchan could declare a mistrial and prosecutors would have to decide if they want to retry Trump.
