Report: Striker who West Ham players once begged Moyes to sign is now available for £30m

West Ham United have been handed a huge boost in the race to sign a key transfer target this summer.

New West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui has apparently zoned in on signing a top-class centre-forward as his main priority.

Michail Antonio surely won’t be our number one centre-forward heading into the new season.

Reports have claimed that Lopetegui wants the Jamaica international to be part of his squad, and that’s fine, but he just cannot be a regular starter for us.

Chelsea ace Armando Broja has been made surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, and the 22-year-old could now be West Ham bound.

The west London outfit have apparently made a big decision on the talented young forward…

West Ham handed big Armando Broja boost

The Albania international is seemingly heading for the Stamford Bridge exit door this summer.

According to a report from The Express, Chelsea have lowered his asking price down to £30 million from £50 million, in an effort to attract potential buyers.

The Hammers were strongly linked with a move to sign the 22-year-old striker in the summer of 2022, but he suffered an ACL injury in December of that year – one that ended any hopes of a potential transfer.

He has been described as an ‘exceptional’ striker by The Athletic, and the West Ham players once begged David Moyes to sign him after he gave them the runaround on numerous occasions during his loan spell with Southampton.

It must be said, he really struggled during a loan spell with Fulham, and his injury record is hugely concerning.

However, if Armando Broja managed to stay fit for the next few years, he’d be a great player for West Ham, I have no doubts about that.

It all depends on whether the Hammers owners are prepared to take a risk on him by paying £30 million for his signature.

The fact that his asking price has dropped by £20 million certainly diminishes said risk though.
