Report: Arne Slot wants to promote 'outstanding' Liverpool youngster and have him in his first-team next year

A Liverpool youngster is reportedly set for a more prominent role under Arne Slot next season.

Jurgen Klopp bid farewell to Liverpool supporters on the final day of the season and will leave a lasting legacy at Anfield.

Despite not securing the dream ending with a Premier League title, it’s fair to say that Arne Slot has inherited a talented young squad.

Several Liverpool youngsters impressed last season when handed the chance and arguably none more than Conor Bradley. The Northern Irishman stepped into the side in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s absence and had a hand in four goals in 11 Premier League appearances.

Now, TEAMtalk claims the youngster is set to be handed a new deal at Liverpool, as well as a more prominent role under Slot.

Conor Bradley set for key first-team role at Liverpool

The outlet claims that Alexander-Arnold could be set to push for a role in midfield next season.

This would lead to Bradley featuring more regularly at right-back after his bright start to life in the first team.

Indeed, it’s noted that Slot looks set to continue to allow Bradley to develop in an ‘enhanced role’ under his guidance.

Trent’s role under Klopp will be key for Bradley

Many believe Alexander-Arnold’s future lies in the middle of the park after he excelled in an inverted role under Klopp. Should the Englishman move into midfield, this would leave a spot at right-back up for grabs.

Of course, Liverpool could yet strengthen in that department but based on last season, Bradley would be up to the task.

Before picking up an ankle injury in April, the ‘outstanding’ youngster was among Liverpool’s standout players after breaking into the side.

It’s no secret that Trent can struggle defensively and his better qualities lie going forward.

Should Bradley establish himself at right-back, it could allow the Englishman to flourish in a more advanced role.
