After Justice Juan Merchan gave the jury detailed instructions, deliberations officially got underway in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg Jr.'s criminal hush money/falsified business records case against former President Donald Trump. Jurors are now deliberating a case that is unprecedented in U.S. history.

Outside the courthouse, Trump angrily railed against Merchan and claimed that it would be impossible for him to get a fair trial.

Trump, with defense attorney Todd Blanche standing beside him, told reporters, "I would say, in listening to the charges from the judge — who, as you know, is very conflicted and very corrupt, because of the confliction, very very corrupt — Mother Theresa could not beat these charges."

The presumptive 2024 GOP presidential nominee angrily continued, "These charges are rigged. The whole thing is rigged. The whole country's a mess, between the borders and fake elections. And you have a trial like this, where the judge is so conflicted he can't breathe. He's gotta do his job, and it's not for me — that I can tell you. It's a disgrace. And I mean that."

Trump reiterated, "Mother Theresa could not beat those charges," adding, "But we'll see."

While Trump was speaking to reporters, Fox News continued to broadcast them. But on MSNBC, host Ana Cabrera and her colleagues cut away from the rant.

Cabrera said, "We've heard this before. Donald Trump continuing to rail against the justice system."
