On day one of jury deliberations Thursday, Donald Trump railed against New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan outside of the courtroom, and also expressed his frustration with his hush money case charges in an all caps post on social media.

Standing outside of the courtroom with his lawyer Todd Blanche, Trump said, "I would say, in listening to the charges from the judge — who, as you know, is very conflicted and very corrupt, because of the confliction, very very corrupt — Mother Theresa could not beat these charges."

Later on social media, he wrote, "I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE CHARGES ARE IN THIS RIGGED CASE."

Bloomberg Opinion executive editor Tim O'Brien shared with MSNBC's Joy Reid his thoughts on what Trump is really feeling ahead of the verdict.

"Having dealt with him and covered him for so long, how fearful do you think he is tonight?" Reid asked.

"I think everything he's doing indicates panic," O'Brien replied. "He's got nonsensical capitalized truths — i hate calling them truths. posts through his account, and I think he feels cornered. I think he has for some time. As the trial wears along and the evidence creeps up, I think it puts him in a real corner."

The Bloomberg editor continued, "I think he feels that. I think perhaps he's been sleeping during some portions of court. He closes his eyes and I actually think he's in this fugue state, and he's trying to pretend that what he's confronting in that courtroom doesn't exist."

"The same way a small child — if you tell a small child they've done something wrong, and they stick their fingers in their ears — I think that's where he's at."
