Jarin Stevenson will return to Alabama for his sophomore year after testing the NBA draft waters, per multiple reports. Stevenson declared for the 2024 NBA Draft while maintaining his eligibility in April and participated in the G League Elite Camp. Now, he’s coming back.
Stevenson played in all 37 of Alabama’s games this past season and made five starts during SEC play. The true freshman averaged 5.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. He had his best outing in the Crimson Tide’s first-ever Elite Eight win over Clemson, where he scored a season-high 19 points while converting a season-best five 3-pointers.
Stevenson scored in double figures six times throughout his freshman campaign, including three of his first four college games. He also recorded four games with five rebounds.
Stevenson was part of Alabama’s 2023 signing class after reclassifying from the 2024 cycle. He was set to be a senior in high school this past season but played in every game for the Crimson Tide. A Chapel Hill, North Carolina native, Stevenson was considered the No. 21 overall recruit in 2023 and No. 1 player in the state, per the On3 Industry Rankings.
Stevenson is one of two Alabama players who declared for the NBA draft while maintaining their college eligibility, joining Mark Sears, who announced on Wednesday he will return.
