The Angel at Watlington undergoes extensive refurbishment and picks up another award

An exciting few weeks at a village pub have seen it undergo an extensive refurbishment and pick up yet another award.

The Angel at Watlington has been named the ‘Best Traditional Pub’ in West Norfolk following LUXlife’s Restaurant and Bar Awards 2024.

The venue has also been spruced up both internally and externally in the beer garden - and with a whole new look, staff are looking to continue to progress and develop in the coming year.

Emily Phipps, who owns the pub, said: “We are so proud of all our team for their hard work and so grateful to all our customers for all their support with the Angel.

“As a team we are so proud of this achievement and the recognition it has brought to the pub and also the local area.

“Winning a second AA rosette and coming second in the national Eat Game Awards in January and being part of these awards is the continuation of our journey to continue to develop and evolve our skills, the menu and also the pub with the full refurb, and hopefully it will only progress from there.”
