The public is being invited to learn more about the project that will bring thousands more health checks to Nottinghamshire.
The team behind Nottinghamshire’s first Community Diagnostics Centre will host its third information event at Mansfield Community Hospital on Thursday (June 6).
Sherwood Forest Hospitals is hosting the event for local people and members of staff to learn more about the building works and discover how the Mansfield Community Diagnostic Centre is already helping the local community, with over 18,000 diagnostic tests delivered before the completion of the purpose-built facility.
Between 1pm and 6pm at the hospital’s main reception area of the site in Stockwell Gate, the public will have the chance to hear further information about the project.
Additionally, attendees can explore employment opportunities at the CDC new site, which is set to open in spring 2025.
The Centre will replace the derelict building of the former Mansfield Victoria Hospital, which evolved from a workhouse.
Amanda Barrett, the Trust's Programme manager for the project, said: "Nottinghamshire's first Community Diagnostic Centre is a really exciting development for the local area, which will bring with it thousands more health checks each year, as well as creating dozens of jobs for local people.
"This event is a fantastic opportunity for our patients and the local community to come and see our exciting plans for themselves and even learn how they could become a part of the team who will one day be working at the Centre when it opens."
Sherwood Forest Hospitals is encouraging residents with stories, photographs, or information about the historic Mansfield Victoria Hospital to share with them by contacting their communications officer, Andros Navarro, via email at Andros.navarro@nhs.net or speak to the team on the information event.
Members of the public are encouraged to reserve a slot at the event by completing the online registration form at www.sfh-tr.nhs.uk/cdc.
