Two collaborators detained in Kherson Oblast, one was hiding under an assumed name

Among them is a former official of the local division of the Social Insurance Fund.

During the capture of Kherson, she supported the Rashists (Russian fascist - ed.), for which she received a "position" in Russia's occupation "administration" under the patronage of Gauleiter Vladimir Saldo, who headed the so-called "Department of Social Politics".

The collaborator searched for "like-minded people" from whom she tried to form the "staff" of her unit while in the ranks of the pseudo-institution.

She also introduced Russian "legislation" and transferred all bank accounts to Russian rubles.

For the conspiracy, the woman used a fictitious name, notably to sign "administrative" documents.

She remained in the city, and later took a job at the local Pension Fund after the liberation of Kherson, the SBU said.

SBU employees documented the criminal activity of the suspect and her attempts to hide in a state institution.

The other collaborator is a resident of Kherson's Korabelny district.

She joined the "electoral committee" of the Russians during Kherson's occupation, where she campaigned for locals to "vote" for the region's accession to Russia.

To collect "votes" she visited and agitated residents to mark the ballots in favor of Russia.

The woman tried to hide after the liberation of the city, but the SBU located her and detained her.

So far, SBU investigators charged both defendants with collaboration under Part 5 of Article 111−1 of Ukraine's Criminal Code.

The detainees are currently in custody.

They face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
